A Brief Report: 2020-21

The Students Welfare Department of the University of Mumbai provides economic fund for the purchase and distribute books to the Backward Caste students every year. Students get books in this scheme without any charges for the use of an academic year. This year also university sanctioned a sizable amount to our college. Accordingly, various course-related textbooks and reference books were purchased and processed for their use. But due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, students were not available to take the benefit of the scheme. So, our college decided to reach the students with their required books.

The B.C. Book Bank committee headed with Convener Mr. R.S. Pawar and Librarian S.P. More prepared a Google form and asked such B.C. Students to give their demand and the places to collect the books. After getting the requirement, the committee decided the dates, time and places. Students were informed via various media, like whatsapp, e-mails, phone etc. to be present at the stipulated places to take the books. Thus, on 16th Dec. 2020, N.S.S. Coordinator Mr. U.A. Bamane, Convener Mr. R.S. Pawar, & Library Attendant Mr. R.D. Sambari went to the places with their own vehicle and distributed the books to the needy B.C. Students. More than 57 B.C. students took the advantage of this scheme.
